「鉄の魅力を伝えたい」
自由自在に鉄を操り、楽しい鉄彫刻を目指す。
独自の工法で素材の性質を生かした作品づくりを始め、枠を超えた様々な分野で鉄の新たな世界観を表現している。
シリーズ作品「Sei」では、店舗、住宅など身近な空間や自然の中で、鉄の本来の音を奏で響かせている。
“I want to convey the appeal of iron”
Freely manipulating iron, he aims for enjoyable iron sculptures.
Starting by making works that made use of the properties of the material with original constructions, he expresses a new world-view of iron in various fields beyond the frame.
In the series work “Sei” – in familiar spaces such as shops and homes, and in nature – he plays the intrinsic sound of iron and makes it ring out.
飯田誠二
1968年生まれ、茅ヶ崎在住、13歳で溶接を習い、2010年に音のかたちSeiシリーズを開始した。
音階を埋め込んだ鈴、振れると音が鳴る動物などを得意とし、音と造形の世界観を表現する。
Seiji Iida
Born in 1968, he resides in Chigasaki – he studied welding at the age of 13, starting the Shape of Sound Sei series in 2010.
Specialising in works such as bells with embedded musical scales and animals that ring as they sway, he expresses his world-view of sound and moulding.
